Home springs: water filters
Up to 60% of our bodies are water. We need water on a daily basis. The better quality of water we have, the better our health. That’s why there are more and more water filtration systems on a market. Tap water is not the same in different cities. Filtration systems at water treatment plants could have little difference as well as disinfection additives. Before choosing any system start with discovering the point entry water supply. Check what could contaminate the water you’re going to use. Then check the systems in the market that suit your needs more.
When you have a house it’s better to get a filtration system for the whole place, that lets you control the water quality in the whole house including showers and bathroom faucets. Some of them come with a water softener to clean tap water from the elements that could be harmful to your skin and hair. Those systems definitely increase the value of your house. They are also very important in rural areas.
There are undersink versions with an extra faucet for apartment use. Unfortunately, you can’t use just one system for the whole apartment. You have to install separate filters. There are a variety of types: kitchen filters (under sink version, countertop, pitcher, faucet filters), shower filters, washing machine inline filters, etc. Not all of them offer the same quality of filtration as a permanent system, but definitely better than nothing.
Under sink and most countertop versions are more expensive but have up to 3 steps of filtration. Faucet filters (that connect right to the faucet’s head) and gravity type filters (pitcher versions) usually offer less quality of filtration due to the smaller filter itself. Also pitchers take up space on a countertop.
Any system you choose will give you benefits of cleaner water. Water that is clean from organic and inorganic chemicals, heavy metals, biological and environmental contaminants. Most importantly, it’s an investment to your family health.
