Pantry: Treasures in your kitchen

Every kitchen needs space to keep some treasures from strangers. Stuff you have in your pantry people could tell a lot about your lifestyle and habits.

If you bake a lot you have different flours and starches, a good amount of baking powder, gelatin or agar-agar, and sugars. If cooking is not your hobby then you  keep ready to eat or easy to prepare foods: cans with sauces, broths, fish, boxes with cereals and easy to cook grains. Everything that needs several minutes to heat it up and ready to consume. If you’re a magician who tries to combine different cuisines and make something special even with an omelette than your pantry would show us lots of herbs and spices, different grains (rice, buckwheat, barley, etc), many types of pasta, several bottles of vinegars, etc.

All those pantries, however, have one thing in common. They have to be pretty large and keep all the stuff compactly. Well organized pantry would save you space in the kitchen and time when you want to use something from it. The ideal option is to build a custom one with a lot of roll out shelves, with spices and bottles rack, and boxes to keep cans still.

Every small space in a kitchen could be used as a pantry storage. Small vertical board for bottles between fridge and wall. You could save a large amount of cans and dry products in a cabinet under the fridge . Even in a small kitchen you could hide your pantry treasures with some wisely organized cabinets. You could find a lot of small hooks and holders even in a dollar store to upgrade organization inside your cabinets and convert them into a nice pantry.

Once you decide to renovate your kitchen, make a list of items you’d like to keep in your cabinets (including appliances), check the Internet for some ideas, you could even consult with a professional designer how to use every space in your kitchen and don’t overload it with cabinets and your budget with expenses.

While contractors will have to deal with drywall and plumbing you’ll have time to order a new kitchen or transform yours into a new one with a nice pantry.
