Top 5 upgrades in a bathroom

1. New vanity. It's an important feature in your new bathroom. That's a space where you follow your  daily hygiene routine. At the same time it is usually the only storage space in a washroom. You need a spacious cabinet but not too large, one (or two sinks) and enough space on the countertop to keep creams, toothpaste and toothbrushes close by. Also the countertop should be durable enough for a bathroom with it's high moisture level.

2. Shower/Bathtub. Sometimes you could save some money on a bathtub and just cover it with special paint. And you have to choose between a curtain or a glass door. Building showers could be more expensive but gives the bathroom a modern look.

3. Toilet. Toilet bowl shape and color are not the only parameters to choose the new toilet. You could set up the Wall-mounted toilet (needs an extra structure support inside the wall), toilet seats, toilet profile and height. Most of those parameters depend on a layout of your room and a space you have.

4. Lighting. You could make two separate switches for ceiling light fixtures and for vanity lights. That helps you to reduce energy cost when you don't need a bright light. You can also add potlights for a clean, slick look.

5. Tile. In some cases you could keep your old tile and save some money. Unfortunately you can't do that when you build a shower instead of a tub. And of course the fresh look of new tile always makes your bathroom cleaner and newer.
